Read me for raw crater measurement files associated with Kirchoff and Grimm (JGR, 2018). The files provided are the raw .csv output files from JMARS crater counting tool of the small, superposed craters (SSCs) measured for the single-layer ejecta (SLE) craters and their reference areas (JMARS downloads are available at: https://jmars.mars.asu.edu/). They can be directly re-imported into JMARS as is. They can also be imported into MS Excel or an equivalent. File names indicate the SLE crater number as given in Kirchoff and Grimm and whether the counts are for the SLE crater ejecta ("ejecta") or the associated reference area ("ref"). Note some craters used the same reference area and these are noted by multiple crater numbers in the reference area file titles. Areas for the SSC count regions are given in the online supplemental material for Kirchoff and Grimm. Column 1: east longitude in decimal degrees Column 2: north latitude in decimal degrees Column 3: crater diameter in meters (measured using 3-point tool) Column 4: color associated with note (and thus crater classification) Column 5: note indicating the crater classification (see below) Column 6: email of data owner Further notes on SSC classifications (see also Kirchoff and Grimm): The numbers indicate the degradation classification of each "primary" crater. Class 1 are the best preserved craters, class 2 are slightly degraded, class 3 are more degraded, and class 4 are the most degraded craters. "Secondaries" indicate the obvious secondaries identified in clusters and chains. The additional "ellipse" tag on "primary" craters indicate the crater was identified as being more elliptical than circular.
