Vestine D= 98 km Center: 34¡N, 94¡E Count Area: 1979 km^2 Observed Density (@ 1km): 16200 ± 2900 Age: 3.8 ± 0.1 (+sec: 3.8) Stoffler epoch: Early Imbrian Fit Density (@ 1km): 17300 ± 1900 PF fit: good, smallest and largest craters slightly shallow Age calculation notes: ~ good fit (SM). good fit - large D within error - use as is; adding OSs doesn't change fit or age (MRK). USGS geology: Crater mapped as Pre-Nectarian. Most of crater floor mapped as fill with a middle Imbrian age. Wilhelms: ? (couldn't find) Floor material: Best guess is not original. Smooth flat floor, edges meeting wall look embayed, couple of filled larger craters, small peak. Also surrounded by a few craters filled with mare. Material looks softened. Soft? Geology Observations: Ejecta blanket very eroded. Rim looks very eroded. Small central peak. Most of floor flat, but has a "texture" look, especially in south. Few small secondary chains/clusters with craters craters up to ~ 1.6 km. SFD Observations: Small craters (< 1.2 km) dominated by classes 3 & 4, but large craters are dominated by fresher classes. SFD relatively flat on an R-plot. Slope(Diff)=3.5 ± 0.4. Discussion notes: no issues Notes from Brian's adjustment: - Counting boundary: Looks good. Some faint craters were missed, but not too many. - Secondaries: Few present, looks OK - Removal of large, buried craters: One large crater is a possible removal candidate, but is probably OK. I think the class 4 at 8:00 position should be removed. (MRK) - Size adjustment of large craters: The large crater above is poorly marked and needs to grow. - Explaining unusual cases: - Future actions: - Completed actions: Grew size of large type 4 crater (BLE). Marked some craters that were missed (BLE). Removed large mostly buried class 4 crater (MRK). Also changed a few "primaries" to "secondaries" (MRK). Last Edited by MRK 12/18/2012
